What does a new Transavia first officer earn?
In October 2026, Transavia's recruitment site says that a new first officer starts in step 1 of the cockpit collective agreement at EUR 5,570.46 gross per month, excluding other allowances. For the first 2 months of the employment contract, only a training allowance of EUR 1,819.53 gross per month is paid, and the site says both amounts include a gross allowance of 7.3%. The text of the collective agreement for Transavia pilots, May 2025 edition, gives step 1 as EUR 5,570.46 gross per month from 1 January 2026 in the column for 201-300 seats. For the first 2 months it sets pay at step 0, which is EUR 2,697.32 in that column. Since 1 August 2024, the agreement adds a separate monthly supplement of 10% of pensionable salary, shown separately on the payslip.12
How does pay rise with seniority and rank?
From 1 January 2026, the first officer scale in the column for 201-300 seats runs from EUR 5,570.46 gross per month in step 1 to EUR 11,212.91 from step 15. Pilots on a permanent contract with at least 6 months of active service move up one step every 1 July. Pilots who joined between 1 August 2024 and 28 February 2026 with more than 500 but fewer than 2800 hours of relevant experience were placed in step 4, and those with at least 2800 hours in step 7. In the same table, the captain scale for 201-300 seats starts at EUR 9,122.40 gross per month in step 4 and reaches EUR 18,979.81 in step 28 of table 1A. Table 1B, which covers steps 29 to 32 and applies among others to captains who joined on or after 1 July 2015, rises to EUR 20,621.90 in step 32. On promotion from first officer to captain, a pilot moves to the adjacent step in the captain column.2
What else is in the package?
According to the recruitment site in October 2026, pilots also receive 8% holiday pay, a year-end payment of 5.57% and a variable profit-sharing scheme of up to 12% based on Transavia's results, plus a pension scheme. The collective agreement text is different on two points: since 1 January 2023 it provides a gross year-end payment of 8.33%, and since 1 January 2024 profit sharing is based on the operating margin of the KLM group including Transavia, multiplied by a factor of 1.0482, rising linearly from 0 to a maximum of 20%. The agreement lists structural pay rises of 2.5% from 1 November 2023, 3.5% from 1 January 2024, 1.5% from 1 May 2024, 2% from 1 October 2024, 1.5% from 1 January 2025, 1.5% from 1 July 2025 and 2% from 1 January 2026. That agreement ran from 15 October 2023 to 28 February 2026.12
Is there flight pay, and what are the rosters like?
Transavia says it pays no flight pay in the Netherlands: the salary is all-in, regardless of hours flown, and pilots currently fly about 600 hours a year on average. A roster cycle lasts 35 days, of which a full-time pilot works 20 and has 15 off, with at least three consecutive days off as a weekend. Promotion to captain depends on seniority, vacancies and passing the Command Course, and Transavia expects it to take 8 to 10 years for current joiners.3
What does Transavia offer captains at its Brussels base?
Transavia's vacancy for Boeing 737NG captains in Brussels, open in October 2026, offers a starting salary of EUR 11,220 gross per month plus EUR 39 gross per block hour, with the vacancy stating that block hours can exceed 100 a month. The same vacancy lists a year-end payment of 8% of gross basic salary and a pension scheme with an employer contribution of 10%. The contract is permanent, with tax paid in the Netherlands and social security in Belgium. For the Brussels base, Transavia describes a pattern of on average 4 days on and 3 days off without planned layovers, with 20 days of leave plus 10 public holidays a year.45
