Interview and group exercise

CAE tells candidates what it looks for: natural aptitude, educational background and life experience that have prepared you for the demands of the profession, shown through six competencies, which are leadership, teamwork, decision making, situation awareness, time management and safety culture. Build one or two real examples for each. They can come from sport, work, volunteering, music or study; they do not have to come from aviation. CAE also asks you to learn as much as you can about easyJet: its ethos, values, bases, fleet, timeliness record, financial performance and management structure. easyJet's own careers page describes the type of person it wants as someone who loves flying, has strong hand-eye co-ordination and brings what it calls Orange Spirit, an attitude of working hard and supporting the people around you. In a group exercise that attitude shows up in what you do for the team, not in how much you speak. For the interview, expect questions on why easyJet, why the pilot profession and times you used each competency. Prepare the story, then say it out loud once or twice so that it sounds like you. If you have been out of formal education for a few years, CAE also suggests revising high-school mathematics and physics before the aptitude day.12

What you can practise here

A practical plan for the weeks before your assessment: spend the first week on mathematics and arithmetic, and revise high-school physics from your own materials, because CAE suggests revising high-school mathematics and physics before the aptitude day; use the second week for mechanical reasoning; in the third week add short daily sessions of hand-eye-foot coordination, ball on the plate and fast multitasking, a few minutes at a time, so that the controls feel familiar without turning practice into a grind; keep the final days for group exercise practice and interview preparation, when your examples are fresh. If your date is closer than three weeks, compress the same order rather than skipping a block. Pilot Pass lets you practise for your selection with exam-style questions and an explanation for every answer. Make a plan to your assessment date, start with a free set and track your progress per subject. A Pass runs for a week, a month, three months or a year, with no subscription and no automatic renewal.1

Questions candidates ask

How much does Generation easyJet cost? The MPL Cadet Programme costs EUR 115,000 on CAE's programme page, checked 25 October 2026. It covers training, theory exams, uniform, VAT and resits under CAE's quality insurance, but not the Class 1 medical, accommodation and ground transport during CAE training, or meals. A CAE campaign page for the same programme lists EUR 102,942, also without accommodation and ground transport. Is the Generation easyJet assessment free? Yes. CAE states that assessment for the programme is free of charge. Which test does Generation easyJet use? Stage 2 is the ADAPT test, and CAE and Symbiotics publish preparation resources for it. It combines aptitude (hand-eye co-ordination, motor skills, spatial awareness), maths and technical capacity, a multiple-choice technical reasoning test and a dynamic multi-task test. Can I retake the Generation easyJet assessment? If you do not pass a stage you may be re-assessed once after a six-month cooldown. Across every training provider you can attend a maximum of two easyJet interviews. How long is the training and where does it take place? Plan for about 24 months. Theory is in Brussels, Madrid or London Gatwick, the core flying phase takes place at a fair-weather location, and flight phases 2 to 4 are in Milan or London Gatwick, with base and line training at easyJet afterwards. Do I need a Class 1 medical before I apply? No. You must be able to obtain one, and you need a valid certificate before training starts. What is the difference between Generation easyJet and FlightCrew Futures? Generation easyJet is the MPL programme delivered by CAE. The FlightCrew Futures Programme is an Integrated ATPL course with type rating delivered with Skyborne Airline Academy. Can I get a loan for Generation easyJet? CAE's funding page says candidates who have passed assessment may access a funding solution with one of its approved partners. For Europe it lists CaixaBank (Spain), Belfius (Belgium), LCL (France) and BPI (Portugal) for residents of those countries; terms vary by lender, and CAE does not provide financial solutions itself. Is Generation easyJet an MPL or a normal integrated course? It is an MPL, a competency-based licence designed for easyJet. Training includes aircraft-type-specific work on CAE's Airbus A320 training devices and full flight simulators, followed by base and line training with easyJet, and you join the airline as an A320 co-pilot. If you prefer the traditional route with a type rating included, easyJet's other tagged route is FlightCrew Futures with Skyborne. Can I defer my place for a year? No. Successful applicants must start training in the same year as their offer.1523
