Each training organisation publishes its own price for the ATPL theory course, residential or by distance learning. Compare what is included, such as study material, question banks, mock exams, classroom support and the cost of resits. The exams themselves are taken with the licensing authority: under EASA rules there are 13 exam papers, with a pass mark of 75% per paper.17

What is included

The ATPL theory is one part of the total cost of pilot training, next to the flight and simulator hours, the Class 1 medical, the type rating and living costs. Under EASA rules you must pass all 13 papers within 18 months, counted from the end of the calendar month of your first attempt, so plan the course and the exam sittings together.17
