The route, step by step

What does COMPASS consist of?
EPST lists the six tests as Control (hand, foot and eye coordination), Slalom (hand and eye tracking), Mathematics, Memory, Task manager (managing two tasks at once) and Orientation (instrument interpretation and spatial orientation). On day 1 of its three-day assessment at the academy in Dubai, the Emirates Flight Training Academy runs online maths and physics tests of one hour each and COMPASS, which the academy describes as an online aptitude test with five modules (EPST lists six tests); days 2 and 3 cover the medical and language assessments.2526
The six tests
Control: A compensation task for basic hand, foot and eye coordination. Slalom: A tracking task for hand and eye coordination. Mathematics: Tests mental arithmetic. Memory: Tests short-term recall and the ability to chunk information. Task manager: Scan the screen and manage two tasks at the same time. Orientation: Tests instrument interpretation and spatial orientation.26
Costs
The COMPASS test is the first step of the screening at Skywings and costs EUR 245, tax included.27
