The programme carries a bond of USD 36,000 for 24 months, recovered through monthly salary deductions until the move to First Officer. Separately, the MPL programme is self-sponsored for applicants who are not UAE nationals, with an age range of 17 to 30.34
What bond and benefits apply?
First Officers and Captains sign a 3-year training bond of USD 24,000 if already type rated and USD 36,000 if not. Other rewards include education assistance, medical insurance, an end of service benefit, 42 days of paid leave a year, an annual leave ticket, pilot income protection and an open ended contract. Second Officers receive 36 days of paid leave a year.123
What experience does flydubai ask for?
Type-rated First Officers need 1,500 MPA hours, including 500 hours on the B737. Without a type rating, flydubai asks for 2,500 hours in total, 1,000 hours on a modern multi-crew aircraft heavier than 10 tonnes and 1500 hours MPA time. Type-rated Captains need 5,000 hours in total and 1000 hours in command on type, while non-type-rated Captains need 5000 or 6000 hours depending on the size of jet they have commanded.12
